Landing on the moon was a mission statement by John F Kennedy on September 12, 1962. Kennedy inspired the moon mission because he wanted America to feel the belong. America was in doubt times in the 1960's with the Cold War brewing, the civil right movement and the Cuban Missile Crisis. It gave Americans and humanity hope and a vision for the future. There were people who were concerned about the state of the world snd the United States.
