maybe conventions should remove contests because of gatekeeping politics toxic bullying?

I think conventions are better off without contests. Contests bring bullying, gossiping, politics and weirdos from out of town and not locals. They don’t give spots to locals or in state but who have followers, the right politics, who think like they do. It is getting annoying. They are not fun like they use to be. The elite toxic cosplayers they bully, stalk, harass and gang up on this who disagree with them. It is immature and annoying if you ask me. I think big gaming anime and pop comic conventions should remove contests and cosplay? I only had bad interactions with influencers and cosplay. I rather just show and tell, costume and panel my story.
