We never felt welcome at conventions anyway.
When I was online and waiting I saw others gossiping or complaining about me and some others. In couple past events in nyc I was tired of being bossed around by other costumes. They tell you to stand there or near by if contestant. Others audience or costumers were annoyed at me for blocking their view or standing that made them uncomfortable. I fought back and said I am not bothering you or in the way, my set is hard that I worked on.
They are gatekeepers and bullying behavior at these events. I think some people reported us to host about behavior or costume part when I was only defending myself from harassment by others. I don’t like being poked at or yelled at. As a disabled deaf person I can get easily offended if someone approaches me in away I do not appreciate. Usually I leave before that kind of situation. Sometimes I talk loud back at some bullies or defend my position and assets.
